This could be due to low battery voltage, a loose or damaged wiring harness, or a fault with the gearbox ECU. I would not have thought it was the actuator itself, unless the system has some sort of monitoring circuit. Some things you could possibly check yourself, but others I would entrust to a mechanic who had access to the right equipment. Personally, my advice is to take the car elsewhere if that's the kind of advice you're getting. Just came back from Citroen they say they are 99% certain it's the clutch and flywheel.
